Balances summarize how many units of each asset type sit between your workspace and each partner.
Interface labels, screenshots, and step-by-step UI guidance in this article are pending verification against the live Palletlog application. Conceptual guidance below uses approved Palletlog terminology. Detailed UI steps will be added when product sources are confirmed.

Outcome

You can interpret a balance view and know which movements and confirmations affect it.

How balances are formed

Balances are derived from recorded Movements between your workspace and a Partner, for each Asset type. Typical contributors:
  • Movements you register
  • Partner responses to confirmations
  • Corrections to earlier movements
  • Opening positions imported from Excel
Balances reflect the direction of recorded movements between your workspace and each partner. A positive balance for an asset type means your partner holds more of that asset than you, or owes you units, depending on your workspace configuration. Verify balance direction against your operational agreements.

Views you will use

Confirmations and disputed positions

A movement may affect balances before or after partner confirmation, depending on your process. If a partner reports a difference, treat the related balance as uncertain until the Dispute is resolved. See Resolve a dispute and Balance not updated.

Expected result

You can explain why a balance changed and which article to open next for reconciliation, export, or dispute handling.
